My San Francisco shul is four or five blocks from the Pacific Ocean, so we take advantage of this for tashlich each year. It's spectacular.
I still have sand in my shoes.

Thanks for your answer to my question! I did actually know that the Jewish calendar is more fixed with respect to the Roman calendar, although not exactly, and that Ramadan shifts throughout the year...but you answered exactly the question that I meant to ask! :-) This is what I come up with as I'm wandering the halls between classes...yes, I know that I am strange. :-P

following the Shepharic custom of throwing yourself into the water? here, we go to a lake, go out in a boat, and those who want jump into some pretty nice water. it is truely bliss to feel the warm air, smell and hear the water splashing, and hear the shofar.
